Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

Plans change. This policy explains what happens if you need to change or cancel a Holiday Lane booking, and how refunds work. The short version: if you cancel before your balance due date, you never lose more than you have paid.

01Cancellation charges

Charges are a percentage of the total package cost and depend on how many days before the start date we receive your cancellation in writing (email or WhatsApp):

Days before start dateCharge
60 days or more10%
45 to 59 days25%
30 to 44 days50%
15 to 29 days75%
Less than 15 days, or no-show100%

02Our cap before the balance is due

Your balance is due 30 days before your start date. If you cancel before that date, you never lose more than the amount you have paid. The cancellation charge is the amount in the table above or the amount you have paid, whichever is lower, and we refund anything you have paid above the charge.

For example, say your trip total is ₹1,00,000 and you paid ₹10,000 to confirm. You cancel 50 days before travel. The table charge is 25%, or ₹25,000, but the cap means the charge is ₹10,000, the amount you paid. You owe nothing more. If you had paid ₹50,000, the charge would be ₹25,000 and we would refund the other ₹25,000.

From the balance due date onward, the table applies as written.

03Items booked at your request

Flights, visa fees, travel insurance and tickets for special events that you ask us to book are separate from your package. They can be non-refundable whatever the date, and their own rules apply. We tell you about this before we book them, and these costs are not part of the cap above.

04If your visa is refused

The visa decision rests with the embassy. If your visa is refused, this policy applies in the same way as any other cancellation, including the cap before your balance due date. Please send us the refusal letter with your booking ID. Visa fees paid to the embassy or visa centre are not refundable.

05Date and name changes

You can change your start date free of charge up to 45 days before travel, subject to hotel availability and any difference in price.

Changes made later are treated as a cancellation and a new booking, unless our suppliers agree otherwise.

Traveller names can be corrected at no charge until we issue vouchers. After that, supplier charges may apply.

06Unpaid balance

The balance is due 30 days before your start date. If it is not paid in time, we will remind you, and may cancel the booking with the charges above if it remains unpaid.

07If we cancel

If we have to cancel your trip for reasons within our control, you get a full refund of everything you paid, or a free change to a new date.

If a trip cannot go ahead because of events outside anyone's control, such as natural disasters, government travel bans or airline shutdowns, we will refund whatever our suppliers return to us and help you rebook first.

08How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method within 7 to 10 working days of the cancellation being confirmed. Bank processing times may add a few days.

TCS already deposited with the government is not refunded by us. It stays as a credit against the payer's PAN, which you can claim when you file your income tax return.
